What it is
The straight take.
Claremont is unlike the rest of the Inland Empire and it has worked hard to stay that way. The Claremont Colleges (Pomona, Harvey Mudd, Scripps, Pitzer, CMC) sit at the heart of town, which means the city has both a college-town energy and a permanent supply of educated buyers.
The Village is the downtown — walkable, brick storefronts, sidewalk dining, and a Sunday farmers' market that has run for decades. You can spend a full Saturday there and never get in a car.
Tree streets is what the neighborhoods are called for a reason. Indian Hill, College Avenue, Mountain Avenue, and the surrounding blocks are covered by some of the oldest urban canopy in Southern California.
It costs more here. That is the trade-off. You get smaller lots than Rancho or Upland but a real downtown you can walk to, a top-tier school district, and a community of buyers who specifically chose Claremont over closer-in suburbs.

The market
What's happening with prices.
Current as of mid-2026. The Inland Empire moves quickly. If you want fresh numbers for your block, ask me.
- 01
Tree streets (north of Foothill, around Indian Hill and College) is the prestige market. Homes here go quickly and sell at a premium.
- 02
Claraboya in the foothills is the view market — older homes, some with city-light views, lower turnover.
- 03
South Claremont is the entry point. Smaller homes, often newer build, more affordable for the school district.
