Alta Loma is the north end of Rancho Cucamonga. People who live here will correct you if you call it 'Rancho.' It has its own ZIP code (91737), its own high school feeder, and a different feel from the central Rancho subdivisions.
This is where the equestrian properties are. There are still active horse trails through the city. Plenty of homes are zoned for a corral, and you'll see riding rings in backyards.
Lot sizes are the headline here. Half-acre is normal. Acre lots are common. You get the kind of breathing room that's almost gone from the rest of the Inland Empire.
What you trade for the lot size: nothing is walking distance. There's no Alta Loma 'downtown.' You'll drive to Victoria Gardens or down to Foothill for everything.
